Thermodial were announced as training leisurewear sponsor of Innisfails GAA as they celebrate an enduring legacy in 2016. Indeed, it is a milestone year for both teams, as Thermodial celebrate 30 years since their foundation, whilst Innisfails GAA are currently celebrating their 130th anniversary. As part of the sponsorship deal, Thermodial also unveiled a pitch-side sign board at Innisfail’s grounds off the Malahide Road.
Common to both teams is their commitment to training. Uniquely to the building services sector, Thermodial spend – on average – 4% of payroll costs on training, a figure which compares favourably with international standards. Thermodial’s multi-skilled Service Engineers each have a national craft certificate discipline, whilst 24 are F-Gas category I and RGII trained and certified.
“At Thermodial’s heart has always been a focus on training and up-skilling. We believe it has been a key player in the development of our team in providing technical solutions for customers”, commented Director, Mark Carrick.
As Mark Carrick presented Christy Breen of Innisfails with a sponsorship cheque and Thermodial branded leisurewear, he added, “We also firmly believe in the power of training and fitness work and its contribution to a positive lifestyle and a healthy mind. That is why we are supporting Innisfails and their training investment during their 130th anniversary year.”
Whilst Innisfails have 60 participating players through both women’s and men’s adult teams – training twice and playing once per week – they have plans to grow their youth structures in the near future.
The investment in their playing facilities and grounds proved a worthwhile investment, as the Dublin footballers avail of their secluded floodlit base for their outdoor winter training schedule – contributing to the on-going success of the county team.
Thermodial may not be able to match Innisfail’s 130 years in existence, however the company has amassed nearly 430 years’ engineering experience, from senior management through to apprentices. This experience proves invaluable when it comes to problem-solving, best practice advice and expertise, which Christy Breen can testify to, successfully playing a role in both teams – Service Engineer for Thermodial and Men’s Adult Team Manager for Innisfails.
